The Volunteers Big Thank You Picnic
-
Tunbridge Wells is extremely lucky to have an amazing group of volunteers who have given their time freely over the past 18 months to support the wellbeing of others – especially vulnerable, lonely, and socially isolated people. It has been an incredible joint effort ensuring our communities have stayed truly connected and supported.
By way of a thank you, we have invited local charities and organisations to come along for a simple and friendly get together in Calverley Grounds, set up stall, showcase their work and allow us to help thank the volunteers who have helped keep our communities going in these difficult times.
Friends, families, and the general public are encouraged to come along and find out more about the support there is available in Kent, or indeed the volunteering opportunities there are for them in the future. The day will be friendly, informal, and all in the spirit of sharing and caring.
Therefore, come join us in Calverley Grounds from 11am to 3pm, bring a picnic and help us celebrate our wonderful local volunteers. Enjoy our guest speakers and community performances; and perhaps be inspired to help be a force for positive change in your community and become a volunteer yourself.
The event is supported by Kent County Council’s Reconnecting Communities programme.
